The Scrap Metal Dealers Act requires you to confirm your identity when you hand over your car in order for it to be scrapped. An in date photo-card driving license is all that you will need, this ensures that the scrap dealer can confirm your full name, date of birth and residential address. If for some reason you don’t have a photo-card driving license, you can produce another form of ID; doing so you will also need to produce another form of ID which proves your address.
